NEIL FERRON is a Seattle-born writer/director currently based in Los Angeles. His first feature script, FISHMONGER, a supernatural dark comedy about 19th-century Irish tentacle sex and vulnerability, was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2021 SLAMDANCE Screenplay Competition. His AFI thesis film, a short version of FISHMONGER, was nominated for a STUDENT EMMY, received a CANNES LIONS Young Directors Award, and world premiered at FANTASTIC FEST.
Prior to FISHMONGER, Neil’s work has won accolades in film, theater, and fiction. His work has been described as “wonderfully surreal” (Sub Pop), “shocking, horrific, and funny” (Rolling Stone), and a “Ph.D testing of what ‘works’ on the human consciousness” (Seattle Weekly).
Neil is a recent graduate of the Directing Fellowship at the American Film Institute (AFI). He holds a Masters in Theater from Trinity College Dublin, thanks to a George J. Mitchell Scholarship.
